Neurotoxin Is the umbrella term for all forms of medication used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Common brands such as Botox®, Jeuveau, Xeomin, and Dysport are all Botulinum Toxin Type A injectables/Neurotoxins.

These injectables work by diminishing muscle contractions that cause wrinkles and folds in the skin. The goal is to soften the lines and folds while maintaining natural expressive movement. Frown lines between the eyes, lines along the forehead, and crow’s feet around the outer edges of the eyes are the most common areas treated.

However, sometimes we may also treat the lower face, bringing balance to the facial appearance and addressing the process of aging.

I encourage that patients return for injections every three months to prevent additional wrinkle formation. Prevention is key!
